Overview: Pilgrims of Hope from the Diocese of Saint ThomasThe Diocese of St Thomas in the Virgin Islands will go on pilgrimage to Rome from April 21 - 30, 2025.This pilgrimage is in the context of the 2025 Jubilee Year Celebrations proclaimed by the Holy Father, Pope Francis, on May 9, 2024, with the issuance of the papal bull titled Spes Non Confundit, which means "Hope Does Not Disappoint".

Vatican City & Rome
Our pilgrimage centers around the heart of Catholic faith - Vatican City. Here, we'll experience the magnificent St. Peter's Basilica, explore the serene Vatican Gardens, and venture into the historic Vatican Scavi. The journey includes a special guided tour of the Vatican Museums, culminating in the awe-inspiring Sistine Chapel. We'll also visit the Cathedral of Rome - St. John the Lateran, the mother church of all churches in Rome and the world.
Historic Rome
Experience the eternal city's rich history through a unique Golf Cart Tour of Historic Rome. We'll explore the ancient Roman Forum and the iconic Colosseum, walking in the footsteps of centuries of history. These sites offer a profound connection to the early Christian church and the Roman civilization that shaped it.
Assisi & Perugia
In Assisi, we'll visit the Santa Maria degli Angeli and the historic Porziuncola, followed by the magnificent Basilica of St. Francis. Our journey continues to Perugia, where we'll explore St. John the Baptist Church, the National Gallery, and the medieval downtown, immersing ourselves in the rich spiritual and cultural heritage of Umbria.
Naples & Surroundings
Our southern Italian journey includes Naples, where we'll participate in Sunday Mass at the magnificent Duomo and explore the historic St. Januarius' Catacombs. We'll then venture to Pompeii, where we'll visit both the remarkable archeological site and the modern sanctuary. The journey includes a visit to Mount Vesuvius, offering both spiritual reflection and natural wonder.
