Who We AreThe Diocese of St. Thomas comprises the Territory of the United States Virgin Islands, specifically the islands of St. Croix, St. John, St. Thomas and Water Island. Initially erected as the Territorial Prelature of the Virgin Islands on July 23, 1960, it was established as the Dioceses of St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands on April 20, 1977. The Diocese of St. Thomas is within the Ecclesial Province of Washington, D.C.
The Diocese of St Thomas encompasses 9 parishes across the US Virgin Islands. We are a multicultural family of faith, united in our devotion to Christ and our commitment to serving others.
The actual Bishop is the Most Reverend Jerome Feudjio, the First African-born Bishop in the United States. He was appointed by His Holiness Pope Francis on March 2, 2021 and his episcopal ordination took place on April 17, 2021.

OUR HISTORY
The roots of our diocese run deep. Founded as the Territorial Prelature of the Virgin Islands in 1960, we officially became the Diocese of St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands in 1977. Our journey is marked by faith, resilience, and the tireless efforts of those who came before us.
