The Holy Family
Jesus Mary and Joseph
December 30, 2012

TODAY (White) Sir 3:2-6, 12-14, Col 3:12-21, Lk 2:41-52

NEXT WEEK (White) Is 60:1-6, Eph 3:2-3a, 5-6, Mt 2:1-12

Mary and Joseph looked for Jesus. In reality, this describes our own Christian living. We look for Jesus when we, like him, seek to be in God’s presence; when we, like him, choose to be obedient; when we, like him grow in wisdom. Along the way we discover that Jesus enlarges where we look for him, how we find him, and what new understanding comes to us through our encounters with him. This is the pattern of faithful Christian living that brings us to fullness of life.

God of all goodness, look with love on those who wait for the safe return of their loved ones who serve in the armed forces of their country. In faith and hope we turn to you for comfort. Grant that we may trust in your mercy and send an angel to sustain us as we await their safe return. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
