Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe
November 25, 2012

TODAY (White) Dn 7:13-14, Rv 1:5-8, Jn 18:33b-37

NEXT WEEK (Violet) Jer 33:14-16, 1Thes 3:12—4:2, Lk 21:25-28, 34-36

Pilates’ question, “I am not a Jew, am I?” only reveals a tension between earthly kingdoms: Rome vs. Israel. The truth of Jesus’ kingdom does not lie in anything of this world, but in hearts turned to God, ears attuned to Jesus’ voice, actions bespeaking faithful following of Jesus. We navigate the tension between the way of the world and the way of Jesus. We navigate the tension between the way of the world and the way of Jesus’ kingdom by putting flesh on the truth: laying down one’s life for others.

Year of Faith
(Every Friday—Day of Intercessory Prayer) [6:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.]
Please be faithful to your Holy Hour pledge each Friday. Everyone is invited to make a visit before the Blessed Sacrament even for a few minutes each Friday. The power of prayer has no boundaries.

CHRISTMAS IS COMING
Although the economy is sluggish, your generosity continues to support your church and other charitable agencies. Please put St. Ann’s on top of your Christmas list, especially now, when we are beginning to “feel the pinch.” The parking lot lights are off five days of the week to lessen the WAPA bill but our health and property insurance continues to increase each year. However, if we continue to be ‘good stewards’ we have nothing to fear. God is Love

Advent begins December 2nd. The bookstore has Advent Wreaths and Advent Candle Sets. Also on display are individual Christmas cards or boxed Christmas cards. Come see, Come browse!

PLAN AHEAD FOR CHRISTMAS:
Frozen Foods will be collected next month (December) for Catholic Charities and The Soup Kitchen.

St. Joseph’s Church, Mt. Pleasant, has a Day of Adoration every Tuesday beginning with Mass at 6:30a.m., and concluding with Benediction at 6:00 pm.

Stewardship means returning the first portion of all God has given you. It is suggested to give from substance—not abundance. Give back the first portion of all your God-given gifts. Make sharing a top priority—not something you do with your remaining time and money.
Store up for yourselves treasures in heaven…for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Mt 6:20-21.
The end of the year is fast approaching. Now is the time to pray and meditate about how you can become better stewards.
For the next few weeks, please write your name on your envelopes in order to verify our records. Thank you for your generosity.
Your giving is the key to the success of church plans and programs. To help us meet our obligation, please pray about TITHING and becoming GOOD STEWARDS by obtaining Offertory Envelopes available in the Marian Hall as a weekly reminder to support your church.
