Twenty-fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time
September 23, 2012

TODAY (Green) Wis 2:12, 17-20, Jas 3:16—4:3, Mk 9:30-37

NEXT WEEK (Green) Nm 11:25-19, Jas 5:1-6, Mk 9:38-43, 45, 47-48

How the disciples misunderstand the deepest truth about what the “Son of Man” is to undergo! While Jesus is speaking of his impending suffering, death, and rising, the disciples are quibbling over “who is the greatest” among them. They are brought to silence twice by Jesus because they still cannot accept the true meaning of who Jesus is and his mission. By embracing a child Jesus reveals who he is: the One least among us who has come to serve.

Sign up lists will be available so that every hour will be taken. The Power of Prayer is essential to combat the problems which have invaded our families, communities and nation. All Leaders of Prayer Groups and Parish Societies are asked to encourage their members to make a faithful commitment of time before the Blessed Sacrament. Please call the parish secretary, Maria Jones, to schedule your hour or sign your name next to a particular hour on the sheet that will be provided for you during the next few weeks. Thank You.
