TODAY (Green) Am 8:4-7; 1 Tim 2:1-8 ; Lk 16:1-13

NEXT WEEK (Green) Am 8:4-7: 1 Tm 6:11-16: Lk 16:19-31

The wily servant has concern only for his immediate future and uses underhanded means to assure that his needs are met. In his efforts to protect his future, however, he limits it—he will only be welcomed into the homes of those whose favor he bought dishonestly with his master’s wealth. By serving himself, the wily servant ultimately limits his world of possibilities. By contrast, disciples are to serve in such a way that they open their future to unending possibilities. This service leads to an eternal future (“eternal dwellings”).

CHRISTIAN STEWARDSHIP:
How much should I give? This is a very personal decision. Many Catholics use the Bible’s tithe as a guide. They may…offer a percentage of their income…use a percentage as a starting point, and increase the amount overtime…set a percentage as a goal, and try to work up to it.
YOUR CHURCH NEEDS YOUR SUPPPORT
Before you decide how much to give…pray for guidance...talk it over with your family…reflect on the meaning of “sacrifice”.
Your giving is the key to the success of the church plans and programs. To help us meet our obligations, please pray about TITHING, and become good STEWARDS by obtaining Offertory Envelopes available in the Marian Hall, as a reminder to support your church.

OUR SICK: Please keep in the charity of your prayers the sick amongst us. Doris Encarnacion, Alberta Hendrickson, Agneta C. MEMBERS OF THE ARMED FORCES
God of all goodness, look with love on those who wait for the safe return of their loved ones who serve in the armed forces of their country. In faith and hope we turn to you for comfort. Grant that we may trust in your mercy and send an angel to sustain us as we await their safe return. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
