Twenty-fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time

September 14, 2014

TODAY (Red) Nm 21:4b-9; Ps 78; Phil 2:6-11; Jn 3:13-17

NEXT WEEK (Green) Is 55:6-9; Ps 145:2-3, 8-9, 17-18; Phil 1:20c-24,27a; Mt 20:1-16a

The Father did not give over the Son to die, but he did give him to us so that so we might share in his risen life. Through the self-emptying obedience of Jesus, the cross, a sign of ignominy, becomes a sign of exaltation—not only of Jesus himself whom God lifts up in glory, but also of all of us who gaze upon the cross in faith and are lifted up to eternal Life. Jesus being lifted up on the cross means we can share in the Son’s eternal glory.

MAKE STEWARDSHIP A WAY OF LIFE:
God has given us all we have. God gave you your life, health and prosperity, the earth and the gospel. Everything is a gift from God. Jesus invites us to be disciples. You are invited to answer Jesus’ call to follow his example of Christian living. Disciples are stewards. Being a disciple means committing your heart and mind—your whole life—to God. Being a good steward is part of discipleship. Being a good steward means being generous with your time, talent and treasure. REMEMBER, Tithing becomes easier if we set aside the Lord’s portion and give it to him.
Your giving is the key to the success of church plans and programs. To help us meet our obligations, please pray about TITHING and become GOOD STEWARDS by obtaining Offertory Envelopes available in the Marian Hall as a weekly reminder to support your church
