TODAY (Green) Is 55:10-11; Rom 8:18-23; Mt 13:1-23

NEXT WEEK (Green) Wis 12:13, 16-19; Rom 8:26-27; Mt 13:24-43

Jesus explicitly connects the seed with “one who hears the word.” Some hear it but no growth happens. Others hear and the word is natured and produces good fruit. Both in the parable itself and in Jesus’ explanation of it, he indicates that seeds falling on the rich soil do not all produce the same abundance—some thirty, some sixty, some a hundredfold. God cares less about quantity produced and more about growth and life coming to fruition. God actually gives us more than even a hundredfold. God gives us fullness of life forever.
