TODAY (Green) Zec 9:9-10; Rom 8:9,11-13; Mt 11:25-30

NEXT WEEK (Green) Is 55:10-11; Rom 8:18-23; Mt 13:1-23

What are the things hidden from the wise but revealed to the little ones? The previous verses from Matthew’s’ chapter 11 indicate that “these things” are the destruction resulting from being unfaithful to God’s “gracious will.” The “little ones” are those who, having received Jesus’ revelation about the Father, remain faithful and enter into God’s reign of peace. The faithful, having come to Jesus and taken His yoke upon themselves, live in God’s peace now. These faithful ones need have no fear of Jesus’ judgment.

Thank you to all who have already contributed to the Bishop’s Appeal 2014! We need more help in order to reach our goal. Please give a brochure to a friend. For your convenience, you can make a pledge now and pay it in installments. Our schools, Catholic Charities and Evangelization efforts need everyone’s support! Let us work together for the Kingdom of God! In view of the present economy, Bishop Bevard has changed our parish goal to $30, 000. Please make contributions to the Bishop Appeal, so that we can reach our goal. Thank you.

The Liturgy Schedules for the month of July are available in the Sacristy. All those who are involved in the liturgy are asked to pick up their schedules after Mass. Thank you.

God of all goodness, look with love on those who wait for the safe return of their loved ones who serve in the armed forces of their country. In faith and hope we turn to you for comfort. Grant that we may trust in your mercy and send an angel to sustain us as we await their safe return. We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Are you having trouble balancing your budget in these inflationary times? Does it sometimes occur to you that when one puts God first, one’s money is likely to last longer? Scripture does contain God’s written guarantee that tithers will not be losers. You can find that guarantee in Malachi 3:10. “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house, and try me in this, says the Lord of hosts. Shall I not open for you the floodgates of heaven, to pour down blessing upon you without measure?” Your giving is the key to the success of church plans and programs. To help us meet our obligations, please pray about TITHING and become GOOD STEWARDS by obtaining Offertory Envelopes available in the Marian Hall as a weekly reminder to support your church.
