TODAY (Green) 1 Kgs 19:16b, 19-21; Gal 5:1, 13-18; Lk 9:51-62

NEXT WEEK (Green) Is 66:10-14c; Gal 6:14-18; Lk 10:1-12, 17-20

As Jesus “resolutely determines to journey to Jerusalem,” he encounters a number of conflicts. Jesus is not welcome in a Samaritan village, he rebukes disciples who want to take revenge, he predicts the lack of comfort and security for his followers, and he chides those who have excuses for not immediately following him. These conflicts arise because the journey to Jerusalem entails death. Nevertheless, the journey must be made because this is the only journey that leads to life.

Be a pilgrim of charity—please be generous in today’s Collection.

The Liturgy Schedules for the month of July are available in the Sacristy. All those who are involved with the Liturgy are asked to pick up their schedules after Mass. Thank you.

St. Ann’s Goal-$40,000.00
The public phase of our Bishop’s appeal 2013 will conclude this weekend on Pentecost Sunday. As of May 13, the parishes have raised $132,937 or 47% of the parish goal of $285,000.We are grateful to all those who have donated to the Bishop’s Appeal. To make our goal, we need everyone’s participation. For your convenience, you can still make a pledge, and pay it in installments. The Bishop’s Appeal will formally end on December 31, 2013, so that you have ample time to fulfill your pledge. Our Catholic Schools, Catholic Charities and Evangelization efforts need your support. Your gift helps feed the hungry and gives safe shelter to mothers and children in desperate need. Please support the Bishop’s Appeal during this year when we seek to grow in our Catholic Faith, and put it ever more into action!

God has given us all we have. God gave you your life, health and property, the earth and the Gospel. Everything is a gift from God. Jesus invites us to be his disciples. You are invited to answer Jesus’ call to follow his example of Christian living. Disciples are stewards. Being a disciple means committing your heart and mind—your whole life—to God. Being a good steward is part of discipleship. Being a good steward means being generous with your time, talent and treasure.
REMEMBER, Tithing becomes easier if we set aside the Lord’s portion and give it to him.
Your giving is the key to the success of the church plans and programs. To help us meet our obligations, please pray about TITHING and become good STEWARDS by obtaining Offertory Envelopes available in the Marian Hall as a reminder to supp ort your church.

God of all goodness, look with love on those who wait for the safe return of their loved ones who serve in the armed forces of their country. In faith and hope we turn to you for comfort. Grant that we may trust in your mercy and send an angel to sustain us as we await their safe return. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
