GRACE AND ETERNAL LIFE
Moses is a man after our own hearts, for haven’t we all dealt with more than our share of stiff-necked people? Indeed, haven’t we all gotten a little stiff-necked our selves at times? Complaining… impatient …quick to anger. How lucky for Moses—how lucky for all of us—that God is exactly the opposite! And we don’t even have to guess about it. The Lord tells us so directly. Accordingly, Moses does what we all need to do. Even with the tablets in hand, he bows down and asks for God’s forgiveness and grace. Encouraging us to live together in peace—and in God’s favor—the Apostle Paul knows all about this grace, joyfully invoking Christ’s grace on us along with God’s love and the Holy Spirit’s. “Rejoice,” he says. And when it comes to rejoicing, John offers us the gladdest words of all: the assurance of eternal life through Jesus.

BISHOP’S APPEAL
The public phase of our Bishop’s Appeal concluded on Pentecost Sunday. As of June 8th the parishes raised $212,547.00 or 75% of the parish goal. We are grateful to all those who have donated to the Bishop’s Appeal. To make our goal, we need every one’s participation. No matter the amount of your gift, it will be appreciated. For your convenience, you can still make a pledge and pay it in installments. The Bishop’s Appeal will formally end on December 31, 2011 so that you have ample time to fulfill your pledge. Our Catholic Schools, Catholic Charities and Office of Evangelization need your support. Your gift helps feed the hungry and gives safe shelter to mothers and children in desperate need.
Thank you and may God bless each of you who have helped to make a difference!

BIBLICAL BACKGROUND OF TITHING:
As stewards of his good gifts, we shall have to render an account of our stewardship to God. We shall have to report to him on how we used or misused his profusion of gifts, all of which were to be used for his glory. TITHING is the test of our Christian stewardship, our declaration of dependence on the God who made us, who enables us to earn our keep and who wants us to manage our possessions responsibly and wisely. St. Augustine said: Out of God’s gifts then, we make gifts to God, and from us he receives what he first gave us. Our state of beggarhood would, unless he first gave us something, remain absolute emptiness.” In giving to the church, you put your resources in God’s hands. Tithing becomes easier if we set aside the Lord’s portion and give it to him. Your giving is the key to the church’s plans and programs. To help meet our obligations, please pray about TITHING and become GOOD STEWARDS by obtaining Offertory Envelopes available in the Marian Hall as a reminder to support your church.

To the Fathers of St. Ann’s Parish Family
 God Bless you
This Father’s Day
May the Blessings of the Lord
Always rest upon you
  In Love... In Peace…In Joy…In Wisdom...In Strength…
  Happy Father’s Day
