TODAY (Red) Acts 2:1-11; 1 Cor 12:3b-7,12-13; Jn 20:19-23

NEXT WEEK (White) Ex 34:4b-6,8-9; 2Cor 13:11-13; Jn 3:16

One of the fruits of the Holy Spirit is peace. This peace is not a passive state of tranquility, but an empowering force which allays our fears, urges us forth to take up Jesus’ mission, and instills in us forgiving hearts. This peace transforms how we see ourselves, how we pursue discipleship, and how we relate to the world and one another. Certainly, this peace is life-encompassing and enduring. How much more so is Jesus’ gift of the Holy Spirit!

BISHOP’S APPEAL 2014
The public phase of our Bishop’s Appeal 2014 will conclude this weekend on Pentecost Sunday. As of May 30, the parishes have raised $134,469 or 47% of the parishes goal of $285,000. We are grateful to all those who have donated to the Bishop’s Appeal. To make our goal, we need everyone’s participation. For your convenience, you can still make a pledge and pay it in installments. The Bishop’s Appeal will formally end on December 31, 2014 so that you have ample time to fulfill your pledge. Our Catholic schools, Catholic Charities and Evangelization efforts need your support. Your gift helps feed the hungry and gives safe shelter to mothers and children in desperate need. Let us work together for the Kingdom of God!

STEWARDSHIP (TITHING)
As stewards of God’s good gifts, we shall have to render an account of our stewardship to him. We shall have to report to him on how we used or misused his profusion of gifts, all of which were to be used for his glory. Tithing is the test of our Christian stewardship, our declaration of dependence on the God who made us, who enables us to earn our keep, and who wants us to manage our possessions responsible and wisely. Tithing becomes easier if we set aside the Lord’s portion and give it to him.Your giving is the key to the success of church plans and programs. To help us meet our obligations, please pray about TITHING and become GOOD STEWARDS by obtaining Offertory Envelopes available in the Marian Hall as a weekly reminder to support your church.

PRAYER VIGIL – ST. PATRICK CHURCH

MEMBERS OF THE ARMED FORCES
God of all goodness, look with love on those who wait for the safe return of their loved ones who serve in the armed forces of their country. In faith and hope we turn to you for comfort. Grant that we may trust in your mercy and send an angel to sustain us as we await their safe return. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
