The Ascension of the Lord

June 1, 2014

TODAY (White) Acts 1:1-11; Eph 1:17-23; Mt 28:16-20

NEXT WEEK (Red) Acts 2:1-11; 1 Cor 12:3b-7,12-13; Jn 20:19-23

Jesus speaks of his and his Father’s glory-but his words are not a reminiscing at the Last Supper of what has been but will soon be no more. No, this glory of which Jesus speaks is an eternal glory. Glory is the tangible trace in our world of God’s holiness-who God is. Jesus’ prayer is about his union with his Father, and it also expresses his desire for us to share in this same union, same glory, same holiness. Nothing of Jesus is withheld from us-he yearns to give us eternal life.

STEWARDSHIP (TITHING)
Stewardship means returning the first portion of all God has given you. It is suggested to give from substance—not abundance. Give back the first portion of all your God-given gifts. Make sharing a top priority—not something you do with your remaining time and money. “Store up for yourselves treasures in heaven… for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Mt.6:20-21)
Your giving is the key to the success of church plans and programs. To help us meet our obligations, please pray about TITHING and become GOOD STEWARDS by obtaining Offertory Envelopes available in the Marian Hall as a weekly reminder to support your church.
