TODAY (White) Acts 2:42-47; 1 Pt 1:3-9; Jn 20:19-31

NEXT WEEK (White) Acts 2:14, 22-33; 1 Pt 1:17-21; Lk 24:13-35

The basic issue in this gospel story is coming to believe that Jesus is risen and alive. Believing is not dependent on physical contact with Jesus, but becoming to believe does not depend on personal encounter. Authentic encounter between persons only happens through mutual self-giving: Jesus’ self-giving is shown through his gift of the Holy Spirit to us; our self-giving is shown when we open ourselves to receive that Spirit. Coming to believe more deeply that Jesus is risen and alive is the work of the Holy Spirit within and among us. What a Gift!

MEMBERS OF THE ARMED FORCES
God of all goodness, look with love on those who wait for the safe return of their loved ones who serve in the armed forces of their country. In faith and hope we turn to you for comfort. Grant that we may trust in your mercy and send an angel to sustain us as we await their safe return. We ask this through Christ our Lord.

CHRISTIAN STEWARDSHIP:
What are the rewards of Stewardship? We seek no “rewards” for our stewardship; we do it with the joy of serving God. Stewardship is the responsibility of the Christian life, making our prayers, worship, study of scriptures, Christian action truly sincere. Our whole life is a partnership with God. We cannot “give” anything to God, but we can” fulfill” God by using our gifts wisely and sharing with others.
Your giving is the key to the success of church plans and programs. To help us meet our obligations, please pray about TITHING and become GOOD STEWARDS by obtaining Offertory Envelopes available in the Marian Hall as a weekly reminder to support your church.
