Ordinary Times

January 16, 2011

TODAY (Green)                  NEXT WEEK (Green)        Is 49:3, 5-6      Is 8:23—9:3

1 Cor 1:1-3                                              1 Cor 1:10-13, 17

Jn 1:29-34                                                         Mt 4: 12-23

In this Sunday’s gospel John is portrayed as one actively watching for the Messiah. Faithful to his mission to baptize all those who came to him, John readily recognized Jesus as the messiah when the Spirit came down and rested upon him. John’s fidelity to watching for the Messiah prepared him to recognize the messiah. We, too, recognize Jesus when he actively watch for his coming into our lives and remain faithful to the mission God has given us to testify to his presence.

Some questions to ask yourself

·         How can I best support my church?

·         How can I make my contributions go further and do more?

·         Have I increased my giving as my income has grown?

·         How can I improve my stewardship of time, talents and possessions?

·         What blessings have I discovered from giving?

·         How has my support strengthened my faith?

Reflect on your answers—and let your FAITH guide your actions. So…your church depends on your support!

Share your gifts with others—as Christ shares with us! Worship God—and pray faithfully. Give generously!

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Mt 6:21

Your giving is the key to the success of the church plans and programs. To help us meet our obligations, please pray about TITHING and becoming GOOD STEWARDS, by   obtaining Offertory   Envelopes available e in the Marian Hall as a weekly reminder to support your church.

A special thank you to all who are faithful to their commitment to support their church. May God bless you abundantly?
