Arriving at Jerusalem, the magi thought they had come to the birth place of the “newborn king of the Jews.” The “new born king” however, was in Bethlehem, the home of David before he was made king, when he was still a simple shepherd boy. This king who is to shepherd…Israel” as not born in a palace but in a humble abode; was not given homage by Jewish elite, but by foreigners; was not given only gifts acknowledging his kingship, but also a gift of myrrh point to his passion. This is no ordinary king being manifested to the world!

What are the Rewards for Stewardship?
We seek no “REWARDS” for our stewardship; we do it with JOY OF SERVING GOD.Yet we know that God does reward stewards by filling their needs in life; by giving new opportunities to care, to share, to participate in the wholeness of life. Stewardship is the responsibility of the Christian life, making our prayers, worship, study of the Scriptures, Christian action truly sincere. So, our whole life is a partnership with God. We cannot “give” anything to God, but we can “fulfill” God by using our gifts wisely and sharing with others. Each of us can live as God’s steward. Like a good stewards of the manifold grace of God, serve one another with whatever gift each of you has received. Tithing becomes easier when we set aside the Lord’s portion and give it to him. Your giving is the key to the success of the church plans and programs. To help us meet our obligations, please pray about TITHING and becoming GOOD STEWARDS, by obtaining Offertory Envelopes available in the Marian Hall, as a weekly reminder to support your church.
