ABOUT THE EVENT
On behalf of His Excellency, Bishop Herbert A. Bevard, Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands and the Very Reverend Monsignor Jerome Feudjio, Rector of Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral, we are delighted to inform you of our upcoming fourth annual Keys and Sword Award Benefit to be held on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at the Marriott Frenchman’s Reef Hotel. This elegant “white tie” affair will benefit the restoration of our 167-year old Mother Church Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral and we are pleased to tell you that phase three of the restoration will be announced shortly. We hope you will take time to stop by and enjoy seeing the restoration progress underway.
Bishop Bevard launched this premier event for individuals and friends of our Diocese who are recognized for their extraordinary contributions and selfless dedication to the Cathedral and to the Diocese. This accolade celebrates those among us with attributes of vision and character that rise above the norm through their past and present service to the Church.
We are very pleased to announce that Bishop Bevard will present the 2013 Keys and Sword Award to His Eminence Seán Cardinal O’Malley, O.F.M.CAP, the Archbishop of Boston. Many of you may remember that Cardinal O’Malley was formerly Bishop of the Diocese of St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands.
